Edward Ray Albert

Edward Ray "Ed" Albert, 58, of Waterloo, died Saturday, August 20, 2022, at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital.

He was born July 11, 1964, in Waterloo, the son of Kenneth and Leona (Ohrt) Albert.

Ed graduated from Waterloo West High with the class of 1982.

He married Lynnette Abbott on August 21, 1982 at the Free Methodist Church in Waterloo.

Ed worked at Tyson Foods for 31 years. He had worked up to a corporate engineer position.

When he wasn't working, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and camping. Ed loved to collect and shoot guns, especially with his son, Devon. He loved his son very much. He treasured the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survived by his wife, Lynn Albert of Waterloo; son, Devon (Megan) Albert of Evansdale; three grandchildren, Leah RaeLynn Albert, Zander and Taiden; mother, Leona Albert of La Porte City; two brothers, Greg (Deb) Albert of Dubuque and Mike Albert of Wilmar, MN; sister, Laurie (Kevin) Albert-Conner of Urbandale; and beloved German Shepherd, Baby Girl.

Preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Albert; sister, Pamela Albert; brother, Randy Albert; in-laws, Vernon and Paula Abbott; and sister-in-law, Laura Albert.

Memorial Visitation: Noon – 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Locke at Tower Park (4140 Kimball Avenue, Waterloo) with a time of sharing at 2:30.
