Harold Eugene Bienfang

Harold Eugene Bienfang, 91, of Jesup, died Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport. He was born February 19, 1931, in Grundy Center, the son of Wilford C. and Mae Mast Bienfang. He was a graduate of Orange Township High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Harold was united in marriage to Aris Jean Wettengel on October 21, 1956, in Black Hawk County, Iowa; she preceded him in death on March 19, 2000.

He was a Welding Instructor for Hawkeye Community College for 31 years, retiring in 1993.

Harold was a member of the Gilbertville American Legion Post #714, WaterloonMasonic Lodge #105 A.F. & A.M. and was a Scottish Rite Shriner.

Left to cherish his memories include his son, Tim (Donna) Bienfang of Surprise, AZ, two grandchildren, Steven Bienfang of Glendale, AZ, Shawn (Aileen) Bienfang of Gilbert, AZ; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Cooper Bienfang of Phoenix, AZ; and two brothers, Elvern Bienfang of Minneapolis, MN and Arlon Bienfang of Independence.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Naomi Bienfang; three sisters, Marcella Bienfang, Evelyn Gray and Wanda Snyder and three brothers, George, Kenneth and Wilbur Bienfang.

Harold was a loving husband and father and will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2022, at St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Washburn including a Masonic Service by the Waterloo Masonic Lodge #105 A.F. & A.M. and military rites conducted by Gilbertville American Legion Post #714.
