Betty Ann Anderson

Betty Ann Anderson, 70, of Waterloo, Iowa, died on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at her home.

She was born on April 27, 1953, in Greenwood, Mississippi, daughter of Marion and Sara (Gladness) Tabor. She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1971.

Betty married John Wesley Anderson January 8, 1987, at the Union Baptist Church in Waterloo. He passed away January 21, 1995.

She was a homemaker in her home. Betty was a member of the Payne AME Church in Waterloo for several years.

She is survived by her husband Bernard May of Waterloo; her children: Moneȳ (Tellis) Anderson-Scott of Hudson, Florida, Charles Anderson, Jamar Jones, and Peter Anderson, all of Waterloo, Johnya Anderson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Leslie Anderson of Waterloo, and Grace Anderson of Las Vegas, Nevada; several grandchildren; and her sisters: Ophelia Carter, Claudia Fesby, Lonnie Fesby, and Nona Fesby.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband John; son John Sailor; and daughter Andrea Anderson.

Visitation: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Locke Garden View Chapel, Waterloo.

Services: 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Locke Garden View Chapel, Waterloo with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
