Vicki Lynn Olmstead, 75, of Evansdale, died Sunday, January 1, 2023, at her home of natural causes. She was born in Waterloo on July 9, 1947, the daughter of Dale and Betty Wren Wood. Vicki graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1965 and spent her life caring for her family. She married Darrell Cook and Larry Olmstead, with both marriages ending in divorce.

Vicki loved her children completely and was devoted to providing for them in every way she was able. She enjoyed crafts, coloring, dancing and especially Elvis. She especially loved her cat, Simon.

Vicki is survived by her children, Darren Cook of Mason City, IA, Diane (Shawn) Healey of Burden, KS, and Shari (Matt) Pignoni of Lehigh Acres, FL; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister Jorja McMillan of Waterloo; and other family and friends. She was preceded by her son Kenny Olmstead and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at Locke at Garden View Chapel, 3655 Logan Ave, Waterloo, on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM with a visitation an hour prior to the service.
