Helen R. McElroy, 91, of Urbana, died Sunday, May 7, 2023, in Westlake, Ohio.

She was born August 18, 1931 in Raymond, the daughter of Richard "Dick" and Mabel Brown Stocks.

Helen graduated from Waterloo East High with the class of 1949.

She married Harold McElroy on March 3, 1956 in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on September 4, 2009.

She had worked at Wonder Bread as a bread slicer until 1987. She then worked at Herberger's/Yonkers for many years until retirement.

Helen enjoyed bowling and completing crossword puzzles and word searches. In her free time, she would read the Bible and other Christian based books, especially books written by Dr. David Jeremiah. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren. Above all, she loved the Lord.

Survived by two daughters, Brenda (Scott) Olson of Denver and Cherie (Duane) Wall of Columbia Station, OH; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Kenny Olson of Brandon.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; three brothers, Roy, Carl, and Clem; and seven sisters, Mabel Marvin, Dora Stocks, Nellie Thompson, Della Uhde, Myrle Bjerke, Matilda Olson, and Hazel in infancy.
