David Bert Douglas

David B. Douglas, 76, of Waterloo, died on Sunday, August 11, 2024, surrounded by his family, at UnityPoint-Allen Hospital.

Dave was born on August 12, 1947, to Maynard B. and Fay Letsche Douglas in Waterloo. He graduated from East High in 1965 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Iowa. Dave proudly served in the United States Army spending time overseas. He married Susan Sink at St. Mary's Catholic Church on April 22, 1971. Dave worked for Credit Union Leagues in Iowa, Minnesota, and Oklahoma, where he served as Vice President. Dave enjoyed collecting guns, traveling with Sue, and being outdoors with his son Michael, fishing and motorcycle riding. His passion and love for music will live on through his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Dave is survived by his wife, Sue Douglas; son, Michael Douglas; brother, Ray (Sheila) Douglas; and sister, Joyce (Dave) Riley, all of Waterloo; and numerous sister and brother in laws, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Locke on 4th. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Locke on 4th Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with military honors provided by the Department of Defense, American Legion Becker Chapman Post #138, and VFW Post #1623.
