Connie Williams, 56, of Waterloo, died on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics at Iowa City. She was born on July 25, 1967 in Mississippi, the daughter of Willie and Lula Jones Purnell. Connie graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1987.

She worked for International Paper Company.

Connie liked to work so she could spend money on her grandchildren and go to the casino.

Connie is survived by: five sons, Jerome (Kelsey) Dale, Leroy Ladd, Jeremy Williams, Cornelius Brown, and Justin Dale, all of Waterloo; grandchildren, Monte Jordan, Layla Ladd, Akeria Dale, Maya Dale, Serenity Dale, and one on the way; her father, Willie Purnell; brother, Eugene (Kim) McCray; sister, Diane (Larry) Reed; brother, Lee (Teresa) Henley; sister, Katie Berry; brother, William Henley; brother, Mark (Sarah) Henley; brother, Robert (Krista) Jackson; and brother, Willie Lee Purnell Jr.

Connie is preceded in death by her mother, Lula Purnell; brothers, Mark Henley, and Willie Arthur Henley.

Services: 11:00 AM on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Locke at Tower Park, Waterloo.

Visitation: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, December 15, 2023 at Locke at Tower Park, Waterloo.
