Kathryn Ann Keroff, age 58, of St Louis, MO, passed on to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 4, 2026 at home after a hard-fought, two-year battle with abdominal cancer.
Kathy was born on April 15, 1968 in St Paul, MN to Alfred and Polly Boggs (Makulec).
Kathy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Steven Keroff of St. Louis, son Philip Keroff of St Louis, sister Joanne Szarmach (Boggs) of Paauilo, HI and brother David Boggs of Orange City, IA. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Polly Boggs, her paternal grandparents Daniel and Catherine Boggs, maternal grandparents George and Cecil Makulec, and in-laws Duane and Sharon Keroff.
Kathy was raised in the St Paul metro area and graduated from Hastings High School in 1986. Kathy attended college at Minnesota State University – Mankato, where she first met her husband, Steve. She later transferred to the University of Wisconsin – River Falls before getting married in 1991. She took a break from school to work retail a couple years and then to focus on being a stay-at-home mom when her son was born in 1994. In 2017, Kathy received an associate degree in general studies. Through the years, she took many community education classes on topics that interested her. She also spent time reading her Bible and attending small group Bible studies.
Kathy loved helping and serving people and worked in a variety of retail positions over the years including Petland, Parable Christian Bookstore, St Louis Zoo, and Panera Bread. She also volunteered in the children’s ministry at her church, her son’s school, the World Bird Sanctuary, the Equine Assisted Therapy, and service projects for Feed My Starving Children and South County Pregnancy Help Center.
In her free time, Kathy enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed playing video games with her son and watching movies and television shows with her husband. She loved nature and would take hikes at the various parks and tend her flowers. She loved animals and owned several parakeets. She also loved visiting the animals at the zoo and the World Bird Sanctuary, especially the owls. She loved various crafts like crochet, cross-stitching, and diamond art. She would often make items to give away as gifts.
Kathy was an avid sports enthusiast both as a player and a spectator. She participated in tennis, swimming, and track in her younger years. In recent years, she would go kayaking, camping, and running. She enjoyed watching tennis, football (especially the Minnesota Vikings), baseball, and the Olympics. She was also a fan of contemporary Christian music. She and her family went to several Christian concerts, and she listened to JoyFM almost daily.
People who knew her would describe her as funny, kind, humble, loving, and caring. She put others’ needs ahead of her own and looked for ways to serve. She especially had a heart for special needs kids and women struggling with eating disorders. Though we trust she is in heaven with Jesus, she will be greatly missed here on earth until we can see her again.
