Kenneth ‘Ken’ Burrington, 84, of Waterloo, died Thursday, April 16, 2026, at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital. He was born October 29, 1941, in Richland Center, WI, son of Theron and Veda (Tiser) Burrington. He graduated from Logan High School in La Crosse.

Ken married Janet ‘Jan’ Stoltz on January 31, 1959. She preceded him in death on March 13, 2024.

Ken was a police officer with the Waterloo police department, retiring in 1990. After his retirement he earned a bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University and went on to manage the Midwest Federal Credit Union.

He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, where he served as a Deacon, and former President. Ken enjoyed deer hunting, playing cards, and socializing with his senior golf league. Above all, he was a family man, attending events for his children and grandchildren.

Ken is survived by his children: Ken (Helen) Burrington of Osage, Jana Burrington of Waterloo, and David (Treva) Burrington of Waterloo, brother Ron (Joan) Burrington of Rochester, MN, brother-in-law Gordy Davis, 8 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Jan, and his sister Sandy Davis.

Memorial service Thursday, April 23 at 11:00AM, with visitation from 9:30 – 11:00, at Ascension Lutheran Church in Waterloo. Memorials may be directed to Tree of Life Nature Preschool.

    To Ken’s family, I want to extend my prayers to you all.
    I also worked with Ken in the Patrol division as well as Juvenile Division, I took Ken’s place at Hoover. Jr. High when he was moved to another school. He was truly a family guy who deeply loved them all. Jana I want to thank you so much for taking the effort to bring Ken to Larry’s memorial. He was in a wheelchair and
    wanted to give his condolences in person even though he didn’t feel that good . What a guy! It was so thoughtful of him, something I will never forget ❣️. Thank you again Jana😇

    I’m so sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. My thoughts and prayers to Ken and the family. I meet Ken in the late 60’s when I worked at a gas station next to the police station where he visited often. I always enjoyed the visits. I joined the sheriff’s department in the early 80’s so continued seeing him. He was a wonderful friend. I know he is enjoying his new home. God bless you Ken. Hope to see you again.
