Ronda “Ronnie” J Fraser

Ronda “Ronnie” Fraser, 77, of Evansdale, IA, died on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer. Ronda was born on November 18, 1948 in Waterloo, the daughter of Norman and Arlene (Swan) Weidman.

She graduated from West High School with the class of 1967.

Ronda met Howard Fraser and they fell in love. Howard was smitten with her from the very beginning. Having proved himself to her father, (not an easy task) Norman, they exchanged vows June 18, 1967 in Waterloo.

She worked as a secretary at Jewett Elementary in Evansdale for 9 years and then in the Waterloo Schools for 29 years as a teacher’s aid and even creating floral designs in her later years.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Evansdale, where she was a big part of the church choir. Ronda loved reading, crocheting, singing brought her joy.

Ronda is survived by: husband, Howard; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Kevin Nicholson of Palatine’ IL; granddaughter, Amanda Nicholson of Milwaukee’ WI; grandson, Drew and Kelsey Nicholson of Cary’ IL, great-grandsons, Easton Nicholson, Ryder Nicholson, and Knox Nicholson, grandson, Derek Nicholson of Palatine, Il; son, Matt Fraser of Evansdale; grandson, Kyle Neidert; brother and sister-in-law, John and Nan Weidman of Waterloo; and Auntie, Evalyn (Albert) Stuber Stessman of Waterloo; her best friend, Norma; and nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her church family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Steril Fraser; and uncle, Chuck Stuber.

Memorial Service: 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church 4031 Lafayette Rd. in Evansdale.

Visitation: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at the church.
