Genevieve “Jenny” Lentzkow

Genevieve "Jenny" Lentzkow, 73, of Waterloo, died Friday, October 6, 2023, at Pinnacle Specialty Care of natural causes. She was born January 17, 1950, in Waterloo, the daughter of Leonard and Gertrude Tiedt Lentzkow. She was a 1968 graduate of Waterloo East High School.

Jenny was united in marriage to Diane Weiland in Cedar Falls; they were later divorced.

Her dedication and determination led her to a fulfilling career as a machinist at John Deere Co., where she worked for 35 years, retiring in 2010. Her colleagues admired her precision and skill, and she was known for her unwavering commitment to excellence. Jenny's contributions to her profession will forever be remembered.

Jenny was a member of UAW Local 838 and First Lutheran Church.

She is survived by a nephew, Jeff (Emily) Lentzkow of Cedar Falls; a niece, Shelly (Brian) Potter of Cedar Falls; and great-nephew and great-nieces, Jacob Lentzkow and Caitlyn Lentzkow, both of Cedar Falls, and Ella Potter of Iowa City.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dennis Lentzkow.

Services will be held Wednesday, October 11, at 11:00 AM, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo, Iowa 50701 with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 10 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Locke at Tower Park and also the hour before the services.
