Larves R. Jones, Jr., 50, of Waterloo, died Monday, September 25, 2023, after a courageous battle with Cancer.

He was born October 6, 1972, in Memphis, TN, to Larves R. Jones, Sr. and Connie D. Trent Jones. Larves graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1991. Larves then started his career in Manufacturing. He was married to Daphne (Jefferson) Williams. They later divorced. He was later united in common law marriage to Nickole Dillard.

Larves worked for John Deere on the assembly line building 8000 Series tractors where he planned to retire from.

He loved spending his time with his family, and friends, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing softball. He was a member of UAW 838 and the Cedar Valley Bowling Association. He was also a Board Member of the Bowling Association. He was inducted into the Waterloo Softball Association Hall of Fame in 2022.

Larves was a Natural born Comedian everyone that he crossed paths with, he was to make sure they laughed with his Bernie Mac impression. He was tough on the outside and soft on the inside. Unafraid to be himself, and also sure to speak his mind. He was a Die-hard Tennessee Titans fan.

Larves is survived by his wife, Nickole of Waterloo; children, Larves R. Jones, III, Jaylin Jones, Memphis Jones, and Londyn Jones, all of Waterloo. Kayla Walker of Joliet, IL, Kimora Jones, Brenden Jones, both of Omaha, NE. Grandchildren; Willow, King & Nyla. Siblings, Marticus Jones, DeShund (Chanda) Jones, Kelvin (Ebony) Jones, Christropher Jones, April Jones, Genesis (Maria) Jones, Francisco Jones, and Anthony Morgan. Maternal Grandmother, Barbara L. Threets of Memphis, TN. Paternal Grandmother Vastie Jones, of Waterloo. Special Father Willie Ross, and Special Cousin DeMaris Burt of Waterloo. Also, a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Family and Friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Ashley Jones.

Services are 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Gift of Life Church, 1651 Sycamore St., Waterloo, with visitation for one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. Locke at Tower Park, 319-233-3146, is assisting the family.
