Waterloo- Victor K. "Vic" Ackerman Jr. 74 of Waterloo, died Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Harmony of Waterloo. He was born June 27, 1950, in Waterloo, son of Victor K. and Lois B. (Drier) Ackerman Sr. He graduated from West High School. He worked at John Deere, retiring in 1999 after 27 years. He was a member of UAW 838. Vic lived in Dubuque from 2006 and moved back to the Waterloo area in 2022. He was a hands-on type of guy. He enjoyed working on cars, building and playing on computers. He also enjoyed a nice drive along the Mississippi watching the barges and boats.

Vic is survived by his three daughters: Heather Ackerman of Ponca City, OK, Robin Ackerman of Blythewood, SC, and Victoria (Jay Eifler) Ackerman of Ankeny; two sons: Nicholas Ackerman of Temple, TX, and Andrew (Cassidy) Ackerman of Cedar Falls; his grandchildren: Tiffany Bissonnette, Gabriel Patten, Jeremiah "JJ" Patten, Christine Kascel, Claire Kascel, Andrew "AJ" Ackerman, Jr., Avrie Jo Ackerman, Nicholas Ackerman, Jr., Axel Ackerman, Bronson Ackerman, and Ayden John Ackerman; great granddaughter, Genevieve Bissonette; mother: Lois Ackerman of Dysart; sister: Joyce (Tim Wiederin) Ackerman of Dysart; sister-in-law, Ann Ackerman of Shell Rock, and nephew, Zebulin Wiederin of Marion.

He is preceded in death by his dad, Victor Sr.; and brothers, David, Stanley, and Ralph Ackerman.

Funeral Services are 10:30 am, Friday, September 13, 2024, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Visitation is 5:00 – 7:00, Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Locke at Tower Park. Memorials may be directed to the family.
