Gearline "Jerry" Ketterer, 94, of Evansdale, died on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at La Porte City Specialty Care.

Jerry was born on November 24, 1928, in Bland, Missouri, to Edwin and Eunice Shockley Biehl. She married Rudolph "Marvin" Ketterer on December 27, 1947, and he preceded her in death on February 17, 1998.

Jerry was a homemaker devoting her life to her family. She was a former Girl Scout Leader. Jerry was inducted into the Cedar Valley Bowling Hall of Fame. She enjoyed gardening, particularly her hostas, day lilies, and hibiscus.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leon; and sisters, Evelyn, Linda Kay, and Fern.

Jerry is survived by her sons, LeRoy (Lou Ann) Ketterer and Wayne (Mary) Ketterer; daughters, Connie and Kimberlee Ketterer; six grandchildren, Jason, Kelly, Josh, Meleah, Kyle, and Korey; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 15, 2023, at Locke Garden View Chapel, 3655 Logan Ave., Waterloo. A public visitation will take place one hour prior. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
