Richard W. "Dick" Blough, 81, of Waterloo, died Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

He was born June 7, 1943, in Waterloo, the son of Edgar and Vyla (Tammel) Blough. He graduated from Orange High School in 1961, attended McPherson College, and obtained a bachelor's degree in dairy science from Iowa State University in 1965.

Dick married Susan Eyestone on July 9, 1977, at South Waterloo Church of the Brethren.

After graduating from Iowa State, he returned home to be the third generation to work on the family farm. He was a member of South Waterloo Church of the Brethren.

Over the course of his lifetime, he was recognized for his conservation-minded farming. In 2017, Blough Dairy Farms was recognized as a Century Farm. He held various leadership positions in the AMPI co-op of which he was a member for many years.

Dick is survived by his wife, Sue Blough of Waterloo; son, Josh (Rachel) Blough of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Finley Iva-Mae, Huxley Trice, Olive Cora-Lynn, and Clover Juna-Faye; and two sisters, Shirley (Richard) Miller of Blair, WI, and Sharon Blough of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Tanna Sue Blough.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave., Waterloo. Private family burial to take place at Orange Township Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 6 at Locke at Tower Park; also for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
