Jessica P. Bravender, 49, of Waterloo, died at her home on Saturday, January 13, 2024. She was born on October 11, 1974, in Waterloo, the daughter of Craig H. and Valerie A. (Vogt) Bravender. Jess graduated from West High School in 1993 and attended Hawkeye Community College. All through high school, she worked at Hy Vee Deli at Crossroads. Later, she worked as an Emergency Room registration secretary at MercyOne Waterloo Hospital for over 10 years.

Jess loved music and movies and she loved to Sing. She loved animals, especially her dogs. She would nurse birds back to life after they would hit one their windows at home. She enjoyed people and people enjoyed being around her. She loved listening to her dad's band wherever they were playing. Jess made bracelets and beaded Christmas ornaments and gave them to friends and family and they are cherished by all. She liked to occupy herself making crafts and watching favorite television shows.

She is survived by her parents; brother, Wesley Bravender of Waterloo; her sister, Meghan (Luke) Budke of Cedar Falls; nieces and nephews: Kayden, Baylee, Hannah, Adalynn, Andrew, and Caleb; her aunt, Renee with whom she had a close bond; as well as many friends. Jess is preceded in death by her grandparents.
