Mary U. Thomas, 86, of Waterloo died at UnityPoint Health ‑ Allen Hospital on Wednesday, September 07, 2016.

She was born on October 22, 1929 in Des Moines. The daughter of William F. & Marie A. (Lindquist) Fisher.

She married Philip A. Thomas, Nov. 18, 1956, in Cedar Falls, he preceded her in death on March 12, 2013.

Mary graduated from Sacred Heart School in Waterloo. She was as a Homemaker. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was the treasurer for many years, Key Club, the Legion Auxiliary 138, and PTA

Survived by: daughter, Cynthia Golden of Waterloo; son, Steven Thomas of Waterloo; daughter, Pamela (Rick) Roth of Highland, IL; son, William (Dianne) Thomas of Cedar Rapids; 6 grandchildren: Karris and Philip (Mary) Golden, Joshua and Garret Roth, Janiece Hillard, and Richard Thomas; and 4 great-grandchildren: Zoey Neessen, Scarlett Golden, and Isaiah and Olivia Golden

Preceded in death by: Parents; husband, Philip; two brothers, William Fisher in infancy and Raymond Fisher; a sister, Berniece Garthoff; and a son-in-law, Isiah Golden, Jr.
