Richard Mark Reed

Richard Mark Reed, 64, of Waterloo, passed away at his home on Monday, December 2, 2024.

Mark was born on May 16, 1960, in Waterloo to Richard E. and Olabelle Reed. He graduated from Northern University High School in 1978. While attending college at University of Northern Iowa and working for UPS, Mark sustained injuries that left him disabled from an automobile-train accident. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and a charter member of Boys Club of Waterloo.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Sister, Paula Reed Dorris; and Maternal Uncles and Aunts, Cecil, Charles, and Stanley Reed, Verna Mae and Lee Evelyn Reed, Corina Reed Carter, Yvonne Reed Denton, Helen Reed Robinson; and Paternal Uncles and Aunts, Vernon, Frank, and Dr. William Reed, Mary Frances Reed Garrison, and Monroe Reed.

Mark is survived by his Daughter, Nina Easterling of Dixmoor, IL; Sister, Adrienne Reed of St. Paul, MN; Nephews and Nieces, Jason (Chantrice) Dorris of Atlanta, Carlin (Jordaya) Dorris of Chicago, Ashley Dorris of North Carolina, and Keaton Reed of Minneapolis, MN; Great Nephews and Nieces, Imani, Zoey, Jason Edward Gold, Carlin Jr., and Jurnee Dorris; and Uncles, James and Lee Dennis Reed, both of Waterloo.

Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Antioch Baptist Church, 426 Sumner St, Waterloo. Inurnment to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery-Waterloo.
