Diane Louise Lawless

Diane Louise Lawless, 76, of Evansdale, passed away unexpectedly at her home, on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

Diane was born on April 4, 1947, to her parents Lynn and Elizabeth (Horn) Postel, in Independence, Iowa. She grew up in Winthrop, where she attended school. After graduation, she worked as a waitress for several years. She met James "Jim" Lawless, and the couple were married on October 1, 1967, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple was blessed with a son, and a daughter.

She worked mostly as a homemaker, caring for her home and family and sold Avon products for many years.

In Diane's younger years, she enjoyed bowing in leagues. She enjoyed baking, taking care of her friends, and helping out anyone who needed anything; being a caregiver came naturally for Diane. She loved her grandchildren beyond measure and loved to attend their sports and activities through the years. Her family would tell you she was a spit fire, comical, and enjoyed playing jokes on her friends. Her family will dearly miss her but remember her for her unconditional love and support she always provided.

Diane is survived by her husband Jim of Evansdale; children Troy (Bobbi) Lawless of Waterloo and Tracy (Wendell) Voss of Grundy Center; grandchildren Katie (Kris) Wright of Evansdale and Nicholas Voss of Grundy Center; step-grandchildren Justin (Lindsay) Voss of North Carolina and Lexi Voss of Ankeny; great-grandchildren Waylon and Finley Wright; step-great-grandchildren Jordan and Cooper Voss and Kennedy and Amelia Ybarra; siblings Jeff (Barb) Postel of Minnesota and Lynn (Veronica) Postel of Florida; sister-in-law Pam Postel of Wisconsin; and special daughter Lindsay Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Gary, David, Greg, and Tony Postel.

A Family Directed Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 6th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Lofty's Lounge, 3480 Lafayette Rd., Evansdale, Iowa.
