Barbara Ann Koger, 88, of Waterloo, died Friday, March 15, 2024, at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital. She was born February 27, 1936, in Waterloo, daughter of Howard and Verna A. (Ehlers) Otterman.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1957. Barbara married Howard Koger, they later divorced. She worked as a homemaker.

Barbara was a member of Evansdale Hope Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed Bible Studies, playing cards and BINGO, but she especially liked spending time with her family and grandchildren, who received phone calls from her every day. Barbara wasn't afraid to express her opinion, in a good way, and could brighten the room with her smile.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (John) Lundak of Waterloo; daughter-in-law Cindy Koger of Los Angeles, Ca; sisters: Glennis Otterman of Waterloo, Gayle McInroy of Charles City, and Kristi (Tim) Engstron of Waterloo; her grandchildren: Dawn (Josh) Gramlich of Waterloo, and Nicole Lundak of Dakota City; great-grandchildren: Mikhayla, Alexa, Elijah Gramlich, Brayden and Joesy Gramlich, and Lani Lundak; and a great-grandchild, Ayven Cervantes and another on the way in June.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and son James Koger.

A graveside service will take place Friday, June 7, at 11:00 AM at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
