Shirley Ann Jacoby, 77, of Evansdale, passed away at her residence on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Shirley was born on March 13, 1947, in Waterloo, to Arnold G. and Darlene M. (Willwerth) Driscol. She was a 1965 graduate from La Porte City High School. Shirley worked as a server in Vinton from 1965 to 1966, and then she went on to work as a secretary for a law firm until she met Jim Jacoby. On August 19, 1967, Shirley married James E. "Jim" Jacoby in Cedar Falls; he preceded her in death on October 23, 2021.
She was an Avon rep from 1977 until 1982 and a homemaker. Shirley enjoyed being with her family and taking trips with her husband, Jim. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and an avid collector and lover of all things Elvis.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Carol Jensen, and brother, David Driscol.
Shirley is survived by her brothers, Dan (Cheri) Driscol of Dysart and Robert (Laurie) Driscol of La Porte City; sisters, Luella Driscol of Waterloo and Pam (Ken) Hilton of Venice, FL; sister-in-law, Margaret Driscol of Kalona; and brother-in-law, Andy (Marvina) Jensen of Dysart; three step sons, John Jacoby of Tama, Joe (Barb) Jacoby, and Jerome (Alison) Jacoby, both of Waterloo; three grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 320 Mulberry St, Waterloo. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
