Rose Marie Wood

Rose Marie Wood, 91, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Deery Suites at Western Home Communities. She was born on February 25, 1933, in Liscomb, to George B. and Anna M. (Miller) O'Bryon. She graduated from West High School in 1950.

She married Stanley E. Wood on September 10, 1950, (74 years) in Waterloo at the original Central Christian Church. She worked as an office clerk for 26 years at John Deere Downtown and NE Site. Rose Marie has been a member of the Central Christian Church since 1947. She enjoyed going along on fishing trips with Stan to Minnesota Lakes as well as crocheting afghans and sewing.

Rose Marie is survived by her husband, Stanley of Cedar Falls; two sons, Steven (Debbie) Wood of Evansdale and Jeff (Valerie) Wood of Benicia, CA; four grandchildren: Malinda Wood, Andrew (Liz) Wood, Sean Wood and Brittany Wood; five great grandchildren: Claire, Bryce, and Owen and James and Ben; a brother, Harold O'Bryon of Cedar Falls; two sisters, Joan Landau of Waterloo and Judy Brown of Aurora, IL and two sisters-in-law, Nina O'Bryon of Ankeny and Eleanor O'Bryon of Central Point, OR.

She is preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Wood; five brothers: George, Bill, Neil, Robert, and Donald O'Bryon and two brothers-in-law, Bob Landau and Ron Brown.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Central Christian Church, Waterloo with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday, December 9, 2024, at Locke on 4th St.
