Paulette Davis

Paulette Davis, 75, of Waterloo, died Sunday, March 23, 2025. She was born on March 31, 1949, the daughter of Clyde Johnson and Pauline Brown. Paulette married Joe E. Davis on May 13, 1966, and the couple was blessed with one daughter. Paulette spent her life caring for her family and her family knew no boundaries. At one time or another, she cared for every member of her extended family. Paulette was a lifelong member of Corinthian Baptist Church in Waterloo.

Paulette was a very caring, loving woman who delighted in giving everyone a nickname. She loved her family deeply, gave great hugs, was empathetic and compassionate, but she was not afraid to tell you to go home. Paulette's mornings began with coffee and then she switched to Pepsi for the rest of the day. Her two favorite TV programs were The Young and The Restless and Cooking With Bobby Flay. At her church, Paulette was a greeter, member of the Mother's Board, taught Sunday School, and was a Deaconess. She had a very personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and His teachings guided her life.

Paulette is survived by her daughter Kenesha Davis of Waterloo; grandson Quataris Davis of Waterloo; siblings Diedra (William) Speller of Roanoke, VA, Michael (Stephanie) Johnson of Waterloo, and Lenora (Rufus) Jenkins of Waterloo; and special nephew who Paulette raised from 2 weeks old until he went to college, Terrance (Stephanie) Roberts. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe, and sister Vickie Aldridge.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Corinthian Baptist Church, 915 Willow Street, Waterloo, with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
