Tamara Sue Stocks, 47, of Waterloo, died on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at her home in Waterloo.

She was born on June 25, 1976, in Waterloo, daughter of Doug and Debra Boger Shimp. Tamara graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1994.

Tamara married Scott Stocks; they later divorced. She retired from VGM Homelink as a call center lead. Tammy loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed swimming and listening to music. Tammy was a big Hawkeye fan and liked hummingbirds.

Tamara is survived by her daughter, Chancey (Dustin) Nicks Laws; son, Brayden Stocks, both of Waterloo; mother, Debra (Michael Kittleson) Stevenson of Cedar Falls; father, Doug (Becky) Shimp of Washburn; siblings, Chris (Trusha) Shimp of Traer, Angie (Mike Klein) Shimp of Waterloo, Andy Shimp of Washburn, Craig (Mary) Shimp of Hudson, and Courtney (Colton) Nichols of Jesup; nieces and nephews, Ryder, Holli, Brody, Brynlee, Kacey, and Danielle; her in-laws, Bill & Mary Thomas; and her dogs, Herky and Kinnick.

She is preceded in death by her grandson, Oakleigh Laws; nephew, Tanner; special friend, Bobby Nicks; paternal grandfather, Skip Shimp; and maternal grandparents, Don and Dee Boger.

Memorial Visitation will take place from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo, with memorial services starting at 6:00pm. Memorials may be directed to the family.
