Lana Trimble, 68, of Waterloo, formerly of Hudson, died Sunday, February 25, 2024, at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center.

She was born May 6, 1955, in Newton, daughter of Harold and Genevieve (Sharp) Trimble. She graduated from Hudson High School in 1973. She married Tom Kirchhoff on December 29, 1973, at the United Methodist Church of Hudson; they later divorced.

Over the years she worked various jobs, including at Petco and PetSmart. She loved talking to people and could carry on a conversation with anyone, whether at work or elsewhere. She had a deep love for all animals, especially her horses and dogs. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hudson.

Lana is survived by her children, Lisa (Nate) Wetzel of Hudson, Laura (Drew) Whitehead of Shell Rock, and Jay Kirchhoff of Hudson; six grandchildren, Clare, Jillian, Brenner, Landon, Kendyl, and Sully; and two brothers, Kerry (Kathy) Trimble, and Ken Trimble, both of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant granddaughter, Lillian.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the United Methodist Church of Hudson with burial to follow at Hudson Cemetery.
