Jane Koger, 99, of Waterloo, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Friendship Village Wellspring Living.

She was born on April 26, 1925, in Waterloo, to Ray and Mary Ellen Bird Garrabrant and graduated from East High School in 1943.

She married Richard Bennett Koger on October 14, 1947, in Waterloo. He died December 22, 1974.

Jane was a switchboard operator and receptionist at Norwest (Peoples) Bank from 1976 to 1991 and returned in 2003 at the age of 78 to work another 2 years at now known as Wells Fargo.

She was a longtime member of Burton Ave. Baptist Church until its closing in 2015. She then attended Walnut Ridge Baptist Church and Friendship Village Chapel along with bible study. She was also a member of the Friendship Village Auxiliary.

Jane enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, Friendship Village Walking group and being on her computer.

She is survived by: grandchildren and great grandchildren: Janelle and Paul Ikonen and children Isaac, Elim and Hannah; Jeremy and Dana Koger and children Caleb, Jace and Braylen; Jared Koger; Nicholas Koger; Mitchell Koger and son Easton; Kriston Koger; daughter in law Janet Koger of Waterford, MI; sister, Joan Peek of Waterloo; and niece and nephews: Jane Ann (Dan) Duncan of Johnston, Michael (Pamela) Baier of Urbandale and Craig (Connie) Baier of Gig Harbor, WA.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sons John Koger in 2016 and Joel Koger in 2018.

Services: 11 AM, Monday, February 17, 2025, at Locke on 4th, 1519 West 4th St., Waterloo.

Visitation: one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo.
