Ruth Elinor Frisch

Ruth Elinor Frisch (94) passed away on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born November 10th, 1930, to parents Henry and Mabel (Hatch) Maurer in Sumner, Iowa. She met and married her husband, Howard Frisch, August 29th, 1948, at the Little Brown Church.

Ruth is survived by two sisters-in-law, Clarice Maurer of Florida and Vera Lilly of Texas; two sons, Timothy (Becky) Frisch of Grundy Center and Thomas (Chandra) Frisch of Cedar Falls; son-in-law, Dennis Graeber; nine grandchildren, Lisa Herselius of Dubuque, Daniel Frisch (Lisa Wagner) of Durango, Douglas (Rebecca) Frisch of Waterloo, David (Kelli) Frisch of Independence, Eric (Haley) Frisch of Bondurant, Sarah (Mitchell) Boerm of Grundy Center, Ashley (Brian) Betts of Waterloo, Baylee (Wilson) Esquivel of Waterloo, and Sophie Frisch (Austin Harris) of Waterloo; 20 great-grandchildren, Alexander Herselius of Dubuque, Hunter Herselius of Dubuque, Abigale Frisch of Angelton, TX, Amelia Frisch of Dubuque, Caitlin (Mitchell) Hrovat of Minneapolis, MN, Ireland Frisch of Olathe, KS, Felicity Frisch of Lawrence, KS, Reiley Lichty of Columbia SC, Makenna Lichty of Fairbank, and Emerson Lichty of Waterloo; Parker, Mason, Everett, Salem and Hardin (Ashley & Brian Betts), Eva and Lainey (David & Kelli Frisch ), Blake and Grace (Sarah & Mitchell Boerm) and Addison (Eric & Haley Frisch); and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mabel Maurer; husband, Howard Frisch; son, Herbert & daughter-in-law Beverly Frisch; daughter, Linda Graeber; two sisters, Henrietta Maurer and Mabel Maurer; and four brothers, Harold Maurer, Howard Maurer, Donald Maurer, and Dale Maurer.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
