James Hoskins

James Hoskins, 74, of Waterloo, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, surrounded by his family at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home. James was born on September 23, 1949, in Senatobia, MS, to Ralph and Rosie (Bowen) Hoskins. He married Betty Jo Tjebkes in Sterling, IL, on July 4, 1969, and she preceded him in death on February 14, 2009.

James worked as a laborer at John Deere for 32 years, retiring in 2005.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gary, and Craig Hoskins; and sister, Pearl Montgomery.

James is survived by his children, Sandy Jo (Michael) Malone of Waterloo and James Craig Hoskins of Reinbeck; sisters, Carol Hoskins of Waterloo and Ollie Wooten of Memphis, TN; brother, Larry E. (Jackie) Hoskins of Cedar Falls; 4 grandchildren, Cienna Malone, Julian Christopher Hoskins, Kayla Marie Hoskins, and Tyler James Hoskins; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Inurnment of James and Betty Jo will take place at Garden of Memories Cemetery-Waterloo.
