Kenneth A. Bahe, 84, of Evansdale, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home surrounded by his family.

Kenny was born on November 13, 1940, in Waterloo, to Lorenz and Ruth (Matthias) Bahe. He graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1959 and went on to proudly serve in the United States Army. While stationed at Schofield Barracks near Honolulu, HI, Kenny married Linda Safley on May 4, 1963.

Kenny spent 41 years working as a Railroad Engineer with Canadian National Railroad formerly Illinois Central. He also proudly served his community as a volunteer firefighter with the Evansdale Fire Department for 18 years. Kenny was a lifetime member of Evansdale AmVets Post #31 and the Iowa Firefighter Association. One of his favorite pastimes was golfing, especially at Jesup Golf & Country Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Linda Bahe of Evansdale; daughters, Shelley (Keith) Hardeman of Columbia, MO, and Teri Tessmer of Evansdale; 4 grandchildren, Karen (Jake) Duckworth, Nicholas Hardeman, Mitchell (Grace) Tessmer and Daria (Carter) Tessmer; uncle, Wilbert Matthias of CA; and sister, Diane Bahe of CA; along with many beloved friends.

Private family services will be held.
