Alberta M. DeBerg, 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at UPH – Allen Hospital. She was born February 6, 1943, in Waterloo, daughter of Walter A. and May M. (Wendt) Fleming. She graduated from Waterloo East High School. Alberta worked for many years at Walker’s Shoes locations throughout the Cedar Valley.

Alberta married the love of her life and best friend, Dale W. DeBerg on June 1st, 1991, at Little Brown Church, Nashua. They were members of the Walnut Ridge Baptist Church now known as Living Hope Baptist Church. She served with her heart as a Deaconess and as a funeral lunch coordinator for several years. Together, they enjoyed getting in the car on weekends and exploring Northeast Iowa and the beauty it has to offer. Alberta was an avid sports fan and loved watching Iowa Hawkeye basketball and football, as well as the Kansas City Chiefs.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Tina Marie, and several grandchildren. Her special friend and extended family, Dennis and Monica Jarchow of Cedar Falls. She is preceded in death by her husband Dale.

Visitation will be 10:00 ~ 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Living Hope Baptist Church (827 Fisher Drive, Waterloo).

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Living Hope Baptist Church (827 Fisher Drive, Waterloo). with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
