Gregory Lee Bardsley, 67, of Palo, passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2025, in Palm Springs, California.

Greg was born on September 18, 1957, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Harry and Peggy (Brady) Bardsley. He graduated from Waterloo West High School and went on to graduate from the Florida Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Air Transportation and Flight Technology. Greg married Jennifer Huck on May 14, 1988, in Bellevue, Nebraska.

Greg worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2021 as Air Traffic Control Facility Manager for the Eastern Iowa Airport. Greg’s greatest accomplishment in life was his family. He had an incredible marriage to his soulmate, and he spent much of his time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Since retirement, Greg and Jennifer became avid travelers-if he wasn’t traveling or with his family, you could find Greg on the golf course.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Greg is survived by his wife, Jennifer; children, Laura (Kyle) Schmitt, Rachel Bardsley, Ellen (Andy) Seyfer, and John Bardsley; grandchildren, Remy, Theo, and Stevie Schmitt, and soon to arrive Baby Seyfer; and brother, Steve (Cindi) Bardsley.

The Bardsley Family will host a Celebration of Life on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Wildcat Golf Course, 100 Wildcat Trail, Shellsburg, IA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the College Community School District’s Lunch Fund.
