Ricky Jo Jo Waskow

Ricky Jo Waskow, 75, of Waterloo, quietly left the bounds of Earth on January 10, 2025, following a lengthy illness. She was born August 6, 1949, daughter of Burnett and Clare (Allenstein) Waskow. She attended Dunkerton High School and later barber college. She owned RJ's Hair Cuttery for many years and won several state awards for hairstyling. She was married and amicably divorced from Robert Bennett.

Ricky lived for a couple of years in Minnesota but lived most of her life in Waterloo. She loved life and was kind and generous. Ricky enjoyed a good joke and laughing with her many friends and family. Her passions were cooking and creating beautiful crafts. She also enjoyed caring for plants in her home. Ricky was confirmed at First Lutheran Church and later was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for many years.

Ricky was preceded in death by her parents Burnett and Clare Waskow and is survived by her siblings: Jack (Sharlene), Steven (Laurie), Jean Ann, and Ben (Julie) Waskow, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 4:30 – 6:30 PM, at Locke on 4th, 1519 West 4th Street. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society or Cedar Valley Hospice. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.LockeFuneralServices.com
