Louise Lorrene Prugh, 100, of Waterloo, died Monday, January 27, 2025, at MercyOne, Waterloo.

Lorrene was born on April 22, 1924, to Robert William and Althea Ferne (Mussett) Walker in Waterloo. She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1943. Lorrene married Marvin Don Prugh on November 11, 1944, in Fayetteville, NC; he preceded her in death on April 3, 1996. She worked at Rath Packing Co. in the early years, and later was a homemaker who loved her family dearly. Lorrene was a member at the Ascension Lutheran Church and in her free time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and watching Western Movies.

Lorrene is survived by her children, Marlys Byers of Denver, CO, Terry (Deborah Terhune) Prugh of Whitewood, SD, Denise (Jerry) Bond of Denver, IA, Robert (Debbie) Prugh and Brian Prugh, both of Waterloo; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, George Prugh; sons, Alan, Dennis, and Gary Prugh; two daughters, Barbara Prugh and Paula Hoyer; brothers, Robert Jr., twins, Donald, and Ronald Kittrell; and sister, Pat Bush.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2211 Maynard Ave, Waterloo. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials Contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
