Robert Louis Collentine, 89, of Waterloo, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, with his children by his side at MercyOne-Waterloo.

Bob was born on December 21, 1935, in Waterloo, son of Harry J. and Marjorie (Zalome) Collentine. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1954. Bob proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1955 until 1958, serving during the Korean Conflict. He married Cherie M. Muldoon on June 18, 1971, in Waterloo; she preceded him in death on May 30, 2007.

Bob worked for Norwest Mortgage Inc. for 25 years where he worked as a data processing manager and served as a vice president and then went on to work for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) for 5 years, retiring on January 1, 1991. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and American Legion Becker Chapman Post #138. Bob enjoyed traveling and seeing his children and their families, being outdoors boating, camping, waterskiing, and fishing.

He is also preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Jeffrey Elliott.

Bob is survived by children, Stephen J. (Paula) Collentine of Waterloo and Joseph G. (Karina) Collentine of Phoenix, AZ, and Elizabeth A. Elliott of Winterset; stepchildren, William J. (MaryAnn) Muldoon) of Omaha, NE, Daniel G. (Debra) Muldoon of Summerville, SC, and Coleen K. (Michael) Dunn of Omaha, NE; brother, John A. (Marilyn) Collentine of Cedar Rapids; 6 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 8 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1423 Kimball Ave, Waterloo.

Mass of Christian Burial: 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. Edward Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery with military honors provided by the Department of Defense, American Legion Becker Chapman Post #138, and VFW Post #1623.

Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Edward Catholic Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
