Cheryl Ann Pieters-Rammelsberg, 76, died on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Unity Point-Allen Hospital.

Cheryl Ann was born on December 4, 1948, in Waterloo, to Clarence A. and Rosella (Eilders) Pieters. She graduated from Waterloo West High in 1967 and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Sociology in 1972 from University of Northern Iowa, and later went on to earn her master's degree. On December 7, 1979, Cheryl Ann married Demitros "Jim" Soteros; he died on died May 29, 1984. She married Donald Rammelsberg on October 22, 2006, in Waterloo.

Cheryl Ann worked as a manager of the Chemical Dependency Unit at C.M.C., worked as a mental health counselor in the private practice sector for 7 years, and was a substitute teacher within the Waterloo Community School for 12 years. She left John Deere in 1985 as a supervisor. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and an avid dog lover who once owned a dog kennel where she trained and cared for dogs.

She is also preceded in death by her parents and stepchildren, Sam Soteros, Diana Soteros-Bartels and Shari Ann Bauler.

Cheryl Ann is survived by her husband, Donald Rammelsberg of Waterloo; children, Brian (Anne Marie) Soteros of Hatfield, PA, Kelly (Rich) Boeschen of Cedar Falls, and Sarah (Brian) Bobbitt of Peoria, IL; 7 grandchildren, and her sisters, Audrey (Dennis) Kimball of Waterloo and Sharon Kurth of Akley.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Locke on 4th. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
