Zana L. Sproles, 60, of Cedar Falls, IA, died on Monday, September 23, 2024, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo. He was born on December 19, 1963, in Iowa City, the son of Helen Sanders and Robert Smith. Zana graduated from West High School and enlisted in the United States Army after graduation, proudly and honorably serving his country.

Zana married Peggy Krominga on May 19, 1995, in Waterloo. He worked as a machine operator at the International Paper Company. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. Zana liked to being outdoors fishing and spending time with family.

He is preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Mary and Calvin Sproles.

Zana is survived by his wife, Peggy Sproles of Cedar Falls; mother, Helen P. Smith, of Waterloo; son, Deondray (Liz) Robinson of Minneapolis; daughters, Nyisha Robinson of Minneapolis, Ebony (Dayrontay) Herring of Germany;step-sons, Brian (Andrea) Woodley of Des Moines, Brad (Mallory) Caswell of Woodbury MN, Luke (Angie) Carwell of Chandler AZ; 19 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lonnie (Diana) Sproles of North Liberty, Efonda (Gerry) Sproles of Minneapolis, Montey Sproles of Dallas-Ft. Worth TX, Dion (Darlene) Sproles of Waterloo, Keever (Daylene) Sproles of Euless TX, Larry (Johnyette) Sproles of Olathe KS, Tommy Anderson of Waterloo, and Dale Anderson of Dallas-Ft. Worth TX.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Locke at Tower Park, Waterloo.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Waterloo.

Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Military honors provided by Iowa Army National Guard Honors Detail, Waterloo American Legion Becker Chapman Post #138, and Waterloo VFW Post #36504.
