Thomas William Dunt

Thomas William Dunt, 71, of Raymond, died Sunday, September 8, 2024, while a patient at Unity Point Allen Hospital. He was born on February 12, 1953, in West Union, IA, the son of Kenneth and Delores Dunt. Tom graduated from Don Bosco High School in 1971 and received an associate's degree from Hawkeye Tech. He married Pamela Klein on November 19, 1977, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville and the couple was blessed with two sons. Tom retired from Northern Natural Gas Co. in 2018, where he was a measurement technician.

Tom was a kind soul who was also funny to be around. He always said, "I can't catch a break," and is remembered as being stubborn and strict, but fair. His work ethic was something he treasured, and he liked to keep busy. He loved cars, especially Fords, and knew their engines thoroughly. A person who was always giving, Tom continued that in death by being an eye donor to the Iowa Lions Eye Bank.

Tom is survived by his wife Pam, of Raymond; sons Joshua (Megan) Dunt of Denver, IA and Jacob Dunt of Loveland, CO; siblings Nancy (Jeff) Higgins of Shell Rock, Michael Dunt of Evansdale, and Mark (Lori) Dunt of Cedar Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Therese Hansen.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, September 16, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave. with a time of visitation an hour prior to the service.
