Delores A. Smith, 75, of Waterloo, died on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at NorthCrest Specialty Care in Waterloo. She was born on June 24, 1949 in Waterloo, the daughter of Frank and Zenola Scott Smith. She graduated from Waterloo East High School with the class of 1970.

She was employed by General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC), John Deere, BPI, and KBBG Radio. She was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church. Delores loved her children and made many sacrifices to make sure they were healthy and safe. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, bingo, and music.

Delores is survived by: daughter, Carmen (Monroe) Tillman of Waterloo; daughter, Rachelle (Chico) Scott Oakley of Des Moines; daughter, Chantrisse (Charles) Smith of West Des Moines; son, Adonus (Tracy) Smith of Waterloo; daughter, Nakia (Ricco) Smith of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Renee Smith of Waterloo; sister, Elizabeth Smith of Des Moines; brother, Tollie Calhoun of Waterloo; special niece, Sonya Grisby of Waterloo; special nephews, Denico Green of Tampa, FL and Dantay Williams of Seattle, WA.

Delores is preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters, Willie Mae Newman, Karen Grisby, Alice Usher, JoAnn Flowers, and Diree Smith.

Services: 11:00 AM on Monday, August 26, 2024, Locke at Tower Park, Waterloo.

The family will hold a repass from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at the Waterloo Boat House, 707 Park Rd.

Visitation: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, August 26, 2024, Locke at Tower Park, Waterloo.
