Marion I. Hawkins, 89, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Eau Claire, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at her home.
She was born May 30, 1935, in Eau Claire, the daughter of John and Dora Mae (French) Ingalls. She married Wesley D. Hawkins on December 24, 1954, in Eau Claire; he preceded her in death on September 1, 2023.
Marion's life was a long tale of resiliency, but also of love and growth. She was a homemaker in her home and worked hard to raise her family. She enjoyed doing family genealogy in later years, and also enjoyed reading books and doing puzzles when she was younger. She meticulously tended to her garden and enjoyed sewing.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she was very active. She was also well known to give hugs as a form of greeting, whether at church or in the store. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and was proud of them all.
Marion is survived by two sons, Andrew (Crystal) Hawkins of Theodore, AL, and Edward (Melani) Hawkins of Cedar Falls; four daughters, Linda (Randy) Wilson of Waterloo, Annette (Josh) Galloway of Cheney, KS, Virginia Haugh of Charles City, IA, and Sara (Dallas) Barnhurst of Fredonia, AZ; daughter-in-law, Karna Hawkins of Kearns, UT; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a brother, Gary Ingles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wesley; son, Mark; and four brothers, John, Charles, Richard, and Robert Ingles.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
