Tim Gates, 49, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at UnityPoint Health — Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

Tim was born on July 23, 1968 in Waterloo son of Ronald Dean, Sr. and Kathleen Anne Walters Gates. He graduated from East High School in 1986. He worked at Goodwill for many years and was a member of Exceptional Person’s Inc., Full Circle, Cedar Valley Community Support Services, and North Star Community Services.

He is survived by four brothers: Ralph (Deborah) Gates, Ryan (Michelle) Graff both of Waterloo, Gary (Sandy) Gates of La Porte City, and Travis Roberts of Ackley; his father, Ronald Dean Gates, Sr. of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his mother Kathleen Anne Walters Gates; an infant sister, Nancy; and brother, Ronald Dean Gates, Jr.
