William "Glenn" Moore, 93, of La Porte City, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, at La Porte City Specialty Care. He was born March 22, 1931, in Waterloo, the son of Ralph and Grace (Anton) Moore. He was a 1948 graduate of La Porte City High School.

Glenn married Marjorie Palmer on November 11, 1950, at the Methodist Church in La Porte City.

He spent his life as a Farmer. His dedication to farming was unwavering, a passion he pursued well into his 90's.

Glenn was active in the community through his involvement in various organizations, from his membership at St. Paul United Methodist Church, where he served as Trustee and on various other committees, board member of ASCS (FSA), past President and board member of La Porte City Cemetery Association, 4-H leader, member of the La Porte City Lions Club, and on the Black Hawk County Board of Adjustment.

He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 74 years, Marge; a son, Brad Moore of La Porte City; two daughters, Sherry (Gary) Sheffler of La Porte City, Terry (Paul) Estep of Duluth, MN; five grandchildren, Shawn (Amanda) Sheffler, Josh (Erin) Sheffler, Lindsay (Tony) Nagel, Lauren (Mark Bellich) Estep, Matt (Anna) Estep and ten great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bob Moore, and a sister, Bev Benorden.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in La Porte City. Inurnment will be at a later date in the West View Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church.
