February 2, 1929 November 24, 2023

Ramona Leola (Raabe) Osland, age 94, took her last breath on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Wellspring Living of Friendship Village.

Ramona was born on February 2, 1929, on a farm near Spring Valley, Minnesota. She attended a one room schoolhouse in her early years and graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1946.

Ramona moved to Rochester, Minnesota after high school and went to work for the Rochester Dairy. While there, she met the love of her life, Ed Osland and on May 5, 1951, Ed and Ramona were united in marriage in Spring Valley, Minnesota. The couple then moved to Waterloo, Iowa where Ramona worked several part time jobs while they raised a family. A couple of her favorites were working at the library at West High School and the Life That Wins office. Ramona enjoyed many hobbies and activities. She loved gardening, needlepoint, cross stitch, crocheting, reading and pets (especially her dogs!) She loved to travel, and her favorite way to do that was while camping. She took care of the plants at her church for years and volunteered her time to many various organizations. Ed & Ramona moved to "the hills" near Denver, Iowa in the 1980's where they created many memories. They moved back to Waterloo in the early 2000's. Ramona was always active in the Church where she was a longtime member of Cedar Valley Community Church.

Ramona was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, by her parents Ralph and Geneva, and by her older brother Kenneth.

She is survived by her son Gregory (Joyce) Osland of Fort Collins, Colorado, and her daughter Brenda (Gary) Potratz of Lincoln, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Katharine (Tyler) Schrock, Elizabeth, Dianne Osland; Aaron, Adam, and Andrew (Stephanie) Potratz, and great grand-daughter Charlotte Schrock.

We will always remember her kindness and her love for the Lord as well as her cheerfulness and optimism nurtured by her strong faith.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the Cedar Valley Hospice.
