Imogene Clara Lowe

Imogene Lowe, 84, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital. She was born March 29, 1941, daughter of Frank and Tillie (Busta) Woldan. She attended elementary school at St. Wenceslaus School in Spillville where she boarded Monday through Friday with the nuns. She then graduated from Ridgeway High School.

Imogene married Wayne Lowe on August 23, 1969, at First Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She worked as a teacher’s aide at Orange and Lowell Elementary for 19 years, retiring in June of 1997. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She enjoyed counted cross stitch, spending time with her grandchildren, Marleigh and Memphis, and going to car shows with Wayne in their 1932 Ford and 1931 Buick.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wayne, her daughter Jean (Arlon) Bienfang of Surprise, Az, and son John Lowe of Fredericksburg, brother Frank Woldan of Dysart, and sisters Alma Klute of Milford and Charlene Stasko of Chicago, IL, and her grandchildren, Marleigh and Memphis Lowe. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, visitation will be Monday from 5:00 – 7:00 as well as one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Waterloo Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
