Daryl G. Marks, 75 of Waterloo, died Friday, August 1, 2025, at MercyOne Waterloo. He was born August 24, 1949, in Des Moines, son of Dean S. and Delores L. (Baumgart) Marks. He graduated from Indianola High School in 1967 and later from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in finance.

He married Patricia Marie Florea, on August 2, 1997, in Waterloo. Daryl worked as a Supervisor for Waterloo Industries for several years. He then moved to Advanced Heat Treat where he eventually retired from there.

Daryl lived an adventurous life, traveling with Pat thru the states, taking in the culture and scenery with camera in hand. He always enjoyed golfing, and if a course was nearby, you can guarantee he was playing and collecting golf balls. He was actively involved with the Timeberline HOA and was the president for many years. Daryl loved spending time with his grandchildren and who would fill him with contagious laughter.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pat of Waterloo. Daughter, Tiffany Marks of Chicago. Stepdaughter, Capri Hood of Waterloo and stepson, Rick (Rachael) Gleason of Waterloo. Step Grandchildren: Karyssa, Abbigayle, Alyvia, Teryssa, Willow, Emily (Danny) O’Conner, Alisha, Monica, and Ricky. Step great Grandchildren: Amora, Aerilynn, Koda, Lucas, Maddix, Paisley, Audrey and Haley. Brother, Dennis Marks of Indianola.

Daryl is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Debra Marks, brother, Dale Marks and sister-in-law, Tanya Marks.
