Christi (Chris) Ana Jensen, 74, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. She was born March 6, 1952, in Waterloo, the daughter of Arthur and Emma (Wolff) Thode. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1970.
On September 16, 1972, she married Charles Jensen at Fredsville Lutheran Church. Christi worked in the office and sales at Younkers for 26 years before retiring in 2004 for health reasons. She was a longtime member of Nazareth Lutheran church, where she enjoyed volunteering in the kitchen, helping with funeral dinners and senior luncheons.
Christi cherished time with her family, especially baking cookies with her daughters and granddaughter. It was during those moments they learned that eating cookie dough can’t kill you. She was a second mom to many – neighbor kids and friends of Jennifer and Kara – and will be remembered for her big heart, love of shopping, and passion for reading.
Christi is survived by her husband, Charlie; daughters Jennifer Jensen and Kara (Chad) Snider both of Prior Lake, MN; granddaughter Lauren Jensen of Prior Lake, MN; brother, Rodney Thode of Benson; brothers-in-law, Terry (Kathy) Jensen of Isanti, MN, William Jensen of Evansdale and Michael (Debbie) Jensen of Waterloo; and sister-in-law Susan Jensen of Dysart and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law Warren ‘Don’ and Gloria Jensen; and brothers-in-law Larry Jensen and Mark Jensen.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 10, 2026, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. A celebration of Christi’s life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 1:00-4:00 at the Evansdale Am Vets Post 31. Burial will take place at a later date in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family or to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.

What a sweet gal and we have great memories of our school days RIP my friend….
Chris was so special to me and going way back when we moved to Benson in our elementary days. Chris will surely be missed. She would always go above and beyond whatever she did. God’s bless to the family. Rest in Peace
My condolences Charlie
I am in Arizona for a few more days and am so sorry to miss the funeral for Chris. She has been a friend since high school when we sat at the same lunch table and our names were Toad, Net, Squirt and Dirt. Charlie, you must have heard Chris tell of 4th street cruises, drive in movies and the time her dad came to door with a shot gun when some guys tried to TP her house. Chris was such a big part of the fun we had. I will miss her so much!
