Jeffrey B. Armstrong, 60, of Waterloo, died at home Sunday, February 14, 2021, following a lengthy illness. He was born July 7, 1960, in Waterloo, to Jim and Anna Fuerstenberg Armstrong. He graduated from Central High School in 1978; later he obtained his Associate degree from Hawkeye Community College. Jeff served in the United States Marine Corps (1978-1982) and received an honorable discharge. He married Allyson Woodard on May 5, 1980, in Jacksonville, NC.

Jeff was a network technician and copper cable splicer for Qwest Communications (CenturyLink) for 26 years, retiring in 2017. He did telephone communications work for Presidents, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Jeff was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He enjoyed fixing and restoring bicycles and going hunting.

He is survived by his wife, son, Jeremy (Sarah), daughters, Alisha Lennox and Rachael (Vince) Orlando, and his mother, Anna Armstrong, all of Waterloo; 8 grandchildren, Hailie, Zoe, Marshall, Eli, Miley, Sam, Grayson and Bentley; 4 brothers, James “Jay” (Jody), Waterloo, Steve (Linda), Hudson, Tom (Cindy), Des Moines, and Dan (Sue), Cedar Falls; and a sister, Theresa “Terri” (Sandy) Reid, Cedar Falls.

Jeff is preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Ben and Theresa Fuerstenberg; paternal grandparents, Frank and Rachel Armstrong; mother-in-law, Sandra Avery; grandparents in law, Walt and Kathryn Corwin; and a sister in law, Angela Brandt.

The family would like to acknowledge Deb and Steve Johnson, David and Tracey Armstrong, Cleo and the late Jack Farris, and many others who were helpful with so many details. Their assistance to Jeff's family during this time is deeply appreciated.
