Bonnie Lou Dahl, 85, of Waterloo, died on Sunday July 18, 2021 at the Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer.
Bonnie was born May 14, 1936 in Whitehall, Wisconsin, the daughter of Douglas and Eunice Fredrickson Mason and graduated from Whitehall High School in 1954. She married Howard B. Dahl August 20, 1955 in Pigeon Falls, Wisconsin.
Bonnie was Human Resource Manager at K-Mart for 30 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waterloo.
She enjoyed knitting, making hats for newborns at MercyOne (Covenant). She also knitted hats, pants and many other items for her family, particularly for her children when they were young.
She loved the Green Bay Packers, Iowa Hawkeyes and Milwaukee Brewers. She would often check in with family and ask them, "Did you see the Brewers won last night?" When Bonnie wasn't taking in the sights and sounds of a Packers game at Lambeau Field, she could be found on a Sunday afternoon at one of her many infamous Packers parties. She recorded every game from the Packers' 1996 Super Bowl season and celebrated their successes often. She was a diehard "cheese head."
Most of all, Bonnie loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She attended all their events and supported them wholeheartedly. They meant the world to her.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Howard; 6 children: Cindy Dahl, Gary (Louise), Steve, Karen (Verlin) McAhren, all of Waterloo, Keith (Stacey) of Dike, and Rich (Tracy) of Cedar Falls; 10 grandchildren: April (Brian) Volling, Matt Oswald, Zach Dahl, Noah Dahl, Emily Wilkerson, Amy (Andrew) Podraza, Lucy (Cole) Phillips, Austin (Jen) McAhren, Daniel (Jen) McAhren and Ava Dahl; and 16 great grandchildren: Paisley Dahl, Julian Wilkerson, Cameron Wilkerson, Carli Wilkerson, Annie Quick, Lincoln Podraza, Greyson McAhren, Breckin McAhren, Preston McAhren, Braylon McAhren, Rylan McAhren, Haisley McAhren, Beau Quick Jr., Leo Podraza, Hayze Dahl and Flynn Dahl.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Dahl; granddaughter, Taylor Dahl and a sister, Phyllis Drangsviet.
