Dean P. Tobar, 66, of Dunkerton, died Friday, December 31, 2021at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital.

He was born October 12, 1955, in Waterloo, son of Paul and Margaret Baudler Tobar. Dean earned his associates degree in Accounting. He served honorably in the U.S. Marines Corps.

Dean married Beckie Friedley on March 19, 1983 in Oelwein.

He worked as an HVAC Technician for Young Plumbing and Heating.

Dean is survived by his wife, Beckie Tobar of Dunkerton; daughter, Kari (Nic) Brady of West Palm Beach' FL; son, Karl Tobar of San Diego' CA; and three grandchildren, Julian, Kira, and Evelyn.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Peter H. "Pete" Weiss; and brother-in-law, Ronald Friedley.

Family directed services from 5 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at VFW Sullivan Brothers Post #1623, 1406 Commercial Street, Waterloo.

Military Rites by the U.S. Marine Corps. at 5 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at VFW Sullivan Brothers Post #1623.
