Gary Joesph Risse

Gary J. Risse, 69, of Dunkerton, died on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at home.

Gary was born on May 3, 1952 in Waterloo, son of Gerald and Mary (Burk) Risse.

He graduated from Dunkerton High School with the class of 1970.

Gary had worked at Rath Packing Company until retiring in 1983.

Gary loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping. He always kept an immaculate flower garden and grew many of his own vegetables, and really appreciated a good meal. Gary spent many of his winters traveling around the United States. He was a family man and treasured the time he spent with his family.

Survived by his daughter, Leslie Pecenka of Dunkerton; three grandchildren, Hailey Lynn Pecenka of Waterloo, Joseph William Pecenka and Trevor Alexander (Bailey) Pecenka both of Gilbertville; great-granddaugher, Ariana Kara Parizek of Waterloo; sister, Linda Maurer of Africa; brother, Gregory Risse of Waterloo; five nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents.
