Hornsby “Sonny” C. Anderson, age 82, of Waterloo, died Sunday, March 16, 2014 at home of natural causes.

He was born October 29, 1931 in Waterloo, the son of Thomas and Ona (Nichols) Anderson. Hornsby married Cynthia Grant in 1969 and they were later divorced.

Hornsby worked at Rath Packing Company on the production line until its closing and then he worked at UNI-CUE as a custodian until his retirement.

Survivors include 2 sons Jason Anderson of Waterloo and Vincent Anderson of Minneapolis MN; 1 Daughter Tiffany Anderson of Des Moines; 4 Grand-Children; Christopher, Charlee, Casey and Carter; 1 Great-Grandchild Heyden; 2 brothers, Arthur Anderson of Waterloo and Thomas Anderson of Atlanta, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother James Anderson; and a sister Constance Freeman.
